NVS is an autonomous organization that is fully financed by the Government of India. It is working towards achieving the goal of providing education to mainly the meritorious students coming from the underprivileged and backward sections of society. NVS is running in various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across the country.
To get admission to these Navodaya schools students to have to appear in the JNVST exam conducted each year for admission in classes 6, 9, and 11.
